It is a great pleasure to personally welcome you to the website of the Embassy of the Republic of The Gambia in the Republic of Turkiye. I am honoured to be entrusted with the important task of representing The Gambia as its Ambassador to Turkiye. My team and I will strive to maintain and further develop the strong and long-standing diplomatic relationship between The Gambia and Turkiye.

Throughout our partnership, the people and government of Turkiye have played a crucial role in supporting the development efforts of The Gambia in various fields of endeavour, particularly in the areas of defence, education, health and internal security. From our shared ideals of democracy, rule of law and human rights, to our common fight against international terrorism, our countries have worked closely together in facing challenges to our interests. My team and I hope to further strengthen this enduring partnership and develop new agreements across a number of areas of mutual interest.

Furthermore, the Embassy’s objective is to enhance our excellent bilateral relations as it relates to commercial diplomacy by increasing trade, establishing and facilitating contacts between business entities, and investors. Our aim is to promote economic diplomacy in the areas of trade and investment between The Gambia and Turkiye. The Government of The Gambia understands the critical role it must play to create a favourable environment for investment. Thus, The Gambia offers a pro-business minded environment with legislation favourable to private investments, which has made entry into all sectors of the economy easier. Additionally, given its strategic location, The Gambia is ready to play its role as a gateway in connecting emerging markets of West Africa and Turkiye.

Serving Gambian citizens in Turkiye is one of our main functions as an Embassy. The strong community of Gambians who live here are an essential part of the Gambian diaspora, and it is  my privilege and honour to serve and represent them.
